  • 6–8 cooked breakfast sausages (links or patties)

Directions

  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, mix buttermilk, egg, and melted butter. Add wet ingredients to dry and stir until just combined.
  • Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease.
  • Pour a small amount of batter, place a sausage link or patty in the center, and spoon more batter on top to cover.
  • Cook until bubbles form, flip, and cook until golden brown.
  • Serve warm with syrup, honey, or a pat of butter.
