Summer Melon Sorbet Floats are refreshing and delicious beverages made with a combination of melon sorbet, sparkling water, and other optional ingredients.
What’s neat too is the melon balls act as ice cubes here, keeping your glass extra cool on a hot day.
While seltzer water is my preference because it doesn’t have any added minerals (which can alter the taste), you may use any sparkling water, club soda, or soda water that you prefer.
Add some mint leaves on top for garnish. The fresh herbs give off a delicious aroma that really influences the taste of this refreshing summer drink. A mint garnish is often times the secret ingredient that takes the flavor over the top!

hoursThe triple melon sorbet float is fruity and fizzy, and a great summer drink recipe!
Ingredients
assorted melon balls (watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, etc)
2 scoops lemon, raspberry, or other fruity sorbet
fresh mint leaves
seltzer water
Directions
- Freeze the melon balls for at least three hours until frozen.
- To make the drink, put the sorbet into the bottom of a glass, then top with the frozen melon balls. Drop in as much fresh mint as you’d like (anywhere from a couple leaves to a handful), then top with seltzer water.
- Let the sorbet melt to sweeten and flavor the drink. Enjoy!
Notes
- You can choose from various melon flavors such as watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, or even a mix of them. Opt for ripe and juicy melons for the best flavor.
- Chilling the glasses in the freezer before assembling the floats helps keep them cool and maintains the sorbet’s consistency for a longer time.
