Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp taco seasoning (store-bought or homemade)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 head butter lettuce or romaine, leaves separated and washed

  • ½ cup cherry tomatoes, diced

  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • ¼ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt

  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

  • Lime wedges (for serving)

Directions

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic; sauté until soft.
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
  • Stir in taco seasoning, salt, and pepper. Add a splash of water if the mixture looks dry. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  • Spoon cooked beef into lettuce leaves.
  • Top with tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and cilantro.
  • Serve with lime wedges for a zesty finish.
