kcalIngredients
1 lb ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade seasoning)
1 cup salsa
1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup sour cream (optional, for serving)
1 cup shredded lettuce (optional, for serving)
1 medium tomato, diced (optional, for serving)
Jalapeño slices (optional, for serving)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the taco seasoning and salsa, then simmer for 5 minutes, until the mixture thickens.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of a greased 9-inch pie dish, forming a crust. Pinch the seams together to seal.
- Spoon the beef mixture evenly over the crescent dough.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the beef.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve with sour cream, shredded lettuce, diced tomato, and jalapeños, if desired.
Notes
- You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- For added flavor, sprinkle some taco seasoning over the cheese before baking.
- Feel free to add black beans or corn to the beef mixture for more texture and flavor.
