Origin Green Onion Garlic Naan Bread

Naan originated in Central and South Asia, traditionally baked in a clay tandoor. This version adds a modern, fusion twist with garlic and green onion, blending Indian technique with global flavors.

What I Love About This Recipe

The aroma of sizzling garlic and green onions is irresistible. I love how the naan puffs up with golden, blistered spots, and the soft texture makes it perfect for scooping up gravies or wrapping up grilled veggies and meats. It’s simple, yet feels gourmet.

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 2 tbsp yogurt

  • ½ cup warm milk

  • ½ tbsp sugar

  • 1 tbsp oil or melted butter

  • 2–3 garlic cloves, finely minced

  • Extra melted butter for brushing

Notes

  • For extra flavor, toast garlic slightly before adding.
  • Add cheese or herbs for a fun variation.
  • Can be cooked in the oven or on a grill for a smokier effect.
