1 lb (450 g) ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 packet taco seasoning
1 can (15 oz) chili beans or kidney beans, drained
1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1½ cups Fritos corn chips, crushed
1 cup sour cream (optional, for serving)
Fresh cilantro or green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until beef is browned and onion is soft. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in taco seasoning, beans, and diced tomatoes with chilies. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the crushed Fritos, then half of the chili mixture, and sprinkle with half of the shredded cheese. Repeat layers.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot, topped with sour cream and garnished with cilantro or green onions if desired.
