Ingredients

  • 1⁄3 lbs lean ground chuck

  • 1⁄2 tablespoons masa corn flour

  • 4 ½ teaspoons chili powder

  • 11/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 11/2 teaspoons garlic powder

  • 11/2 teaspoon seasoning salt

  • 11/2 teaspoon paprika

  • 14teaspoon cumin

  • 11/2 teaspoon garlic salt

  • 11/4 teaspoon sugar

  • 1 teaspoon instant minced onion

  • 11/2 teaspoon beef bouillon

  • 12 taco shells

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1⁄2 head shredded lettuce

  • 2 Roma tomatoes, diced

Directions

  • Meat Directions.
  • Combine all the ingredients, leaving the meat aside.
  • Thoroughly stir the spice mixture to ensure all the spices are evenly blended.
  • Break apart the ground beef and cook it until browned, stirring frequently.
  • Remove from heat, rinse the beef with hot water, and drain off the excess water and grease.
  • Place the beef back into the pan and stir in the spice mixture.
  • Pour 3/4 to 1 cup of water into the pan with the ground beef and seasoning, then simmer over medium-low heat for 20 minutes.
  • Cook on low heat until most of the moisture has evaporated.
  • Remove from heat when the moisture in the meat has evaporated, but the meat is still moist.
  • Assemble the taco.
  • To refresh the taco shells, place them in a baking dish and heat in a 350-degree oven for 7-10 minutes.
  • To assemble the tacos, add a couple of tablespoons of ground meat, followed by lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, and sour cream if desired.
