A refreshing and creamy twist on traditional lemonade, made with whole limes blended with sweetened condensed milk — perfect for cooling off on hot days.

Origin Brazilian Lemonade

Popular in Brazil, this drink (known as “limonada suíça”) combines the tartness of limes with the richness of condensed milk, creating a uniquely smooth and tangy beverage.

What I Love About This Recipe

Using whole limes, including the peel, adds a bright, zesty bitterness balanced perfectly by the creamy sweetness. It’s quick to make and incredibly refreshing!

Ingredients

  • 4 whole limes, washed and quartered

  • 1 cup cold water

  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk

  • Ice cubes

  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Directions

  • Place the quartered limes and water in a blender. Pulse 4-5 times to crush the limes without over-blending (to avoid bitterness).
  • Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher. Press the pulp to extract juice but discard solids.
  • Stir in the sweetened condensed milk until well combined.
  • Serve over ice and garnish with fresh mint if desired.

Notes

  • Do not blend too long or the peel will make the drink bitter.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less condensed milk.
  • For a lighter version, substitute half the condensed milk with regular milk or coconut milk.
