Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • ¼ cup honey

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp sriracha or chili paste (adjust to taste)

  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional for extra heat)

  • ½ tsp ginger, grated

  • 1 tbsp lime juice (optional)

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (for thickening, optional)

  • 2 tbsp green onions, chopped (for garnish)

  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Directions

  • Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, sriracha, red pepper flakes, and lime juice. Set aside.
  • Sauté the Shrimp: Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  • Cook the Sauce: In the same pan, add garlic and ginger. Sauté for 30 seconds, then pour in the sauce mixture. Simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  • Thicken the Sauce (Optional): Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for another minute until the sauce thickens.
  • Combine & Serve: Return shrimp to the pan, toss well to coat, and cook for 1 more minute. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
  • Enjoy: Serve hot over rice, noodles, or as an appetizer.

Notes

  • Adjust spice level by adding more or less sriracha and chili flakes.
